ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER

Actions Speak Louder consists of the separated pages of a penguin copy of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. All the words have been cut from the pages leaving only the stage directions. By replacing the text with negative space, the work examines the ability to communicate on an intimate level, without the use of words, and the inadequacies of language as a means by which to describe emotion.
